Visual Studies faculty & staff
Visual Studies faculty consist of a diverse group of practicing artists, designers, and scholars in visual theory who are currently engaged in creative activity and/or scholarly research through exhibition, publication, and lecturing internationally.
Visual Studies faculty have won worldwide recognition through awards from major institutions such as the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Fulbright Foundation, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the Guggenheim and Rockefeller Foundations, among others. Visiting lecturers, guest artists and critics complement the teaching of regular full-time faculty.
The UB Department of Visual Studies regularly calls upon adjunct lecturers distinguished in their chosen business, art, or industry to teach courses in their specialty.
The Department of Visual Studies concentrations each have specialized labs and equipment. Our Instructional Support Associates and Staff Assistants are invaluable in keeping those labs up and running every day of the school year.
