Printmaking

First and foremost, the print faculty endeavors to provide a challenging atmosphere of intellectual exploration and investigation, combined with comprehensive facilities within which students can develop, explore, and refine their personal vision. The capacity to work consistently and independently on large-scale projects that confront significant artistic issue is underscored. Students grapple with diverse points of view, articulate their ideas and gain an awareness of professional practice in print media.

New technologies and conventional processes offer students from all areas of the Department of Visual Studies alternatives to define their own aesthetic and conceptual aspirations. Today more than ever, artists are adapting and blending print technologies with interactive media, photographic and sculpture forms.
